Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana has been involved in a frightening multi-vehicle crash while travelling home with his family after playing for loan club Trabzonspor.

The Cameroon international, 30, had helped the Turkish side beat Hearts 2-0 in the Uefa Conference League on Thursday night.

Emergency services attended the collision on the Yomra road, near Trabzon on Turkey's Black Sea coast.

Onana was taken to hospital for checks following the accident but was discharged shortly afterwards.

Trabzonspor president Ertugrul Dogan subsequently offered reassurance about the goalkeeper's condition in comments to local media.
