This news follows Young's departure from TNA Wrestling on July 1, when the promotion granted his request for a release. Young had a four-year tenure with WWE in the late 2010s and re-signed with the company in 2022, but he never made a television appearance. He eventually left, citing personal, professional, and moral reasons for his decision.

In October 2024, during an interview on "Insight with Chris Van Vliet," Young discussed his second return to the company.
