Ottery women come from behind to beat Paignton Villa 3-2

This was the only Ottery club game to survive the weather, with the women’s side picking up another valuable three points after coming from two goals behind.

There were early chances for the home side with Veronika Rabley hitting the post in the first minute and Kelsey Salter shooting just wide.

It was Villa, though, who took the lead after seventeen minutes, and they increased their advantage with a second on half an hour.

Ottery brought it back to 2-1 at the interval, a corner from Spiller being converted by Rabley.

Soon after the restart, Salter levelled the scores after being put through by Holly Daly before Ottery took the lead just past the hour mark when Salter netted her second goal of the game.

Ottery WFC are mid-table in the Devon Women’s Football League Division One East with three wins from the five games now played.

On Saturday (October 31), Ottery St. Mary first team are at home to Thorverton in the Devon League.

Kick-off is at 2.15pm.
