Rangers back to same old nonsense under 'brass necked' McInnes as Hotline demands Celtic transfer no brainer

Ross Pilcher took your calls which included the customary Dermot Desmond slagging while a Hibs regular is posted missing

Rangers manager Derek McInnes after the final whistle

A CHANCE to hit the top of the Premiership table was missed by Rangers as they were held to a 2-2 draw in Dundee.

Failing to take advantage of such situations is nothing new and was a criticism levelled at them last season under Danny Rohl.

The Hotline was never likely to let it go unmentioned, and while there's still plenty of football to be played between now and May, it's a habit punters want to see broken.

Peter Cooperwhite has seen this move before. He said: "I hope that's a wake up call as we looked like going back to usual nonsense Dundee got what they deserved maybe even to win game.Fernandez said players want to die for each other well Manny you all looked like you were all in a coma. Only good thing in 1st half was the leveller great finish then improved better 2nd half but woeful in defending.

"Again, great goal to take lead but Dan Neil must still have been in a coma to gift Dundee another goal. He should have hooked a few at half time but not end of the world next game socks must be pulled up and get job done."

Charles Maxwell has accused the Ibrox gaffer of airbrushing the first 45 at Dens and suggests two stunning goals got them out of jail he emailed: "I cant believe Derek McInnes post match appraisal of the generous point he got out of Dundee with. It took 2 worldy goals to avoid a Dundee drubbing.. When Celtic scored 3 worldies against LASK it was 'well, your'e not going to get those every week.'

"McInnes had the brass neck to say we we're really good for 20 to 25 mins at the start of that 2nd half.

"And 'I thought we done enough to win the game.' Well Dell, I thought the game lasted 90 mins? Did you completely forget the whole 1st half? Also, nobody talking bout the ref....shocking performance. But hey.....surely with a limited pool of officials at the next big event at least one might get a jolly...."

Adam Peters, Bathgate, is ready for another international break already after watching: "I’d like to thank the Rangers manager and players on bringing all the Rangers fans back down to earth for believing we could actually challenge Celtic. Shocking tactics, disgusting attitude and terrible subs Can’t wait till the next international break."

Ethan Hamilton of Dundee runs at Nicolas Raskin

David Beattie, Rothesay, was impressed with Dundee's skipper against Gers and has urged Celtic to go and get him: "Absolute nop brainer for Celtic for January window is Ethan Hamilton as new No 6 freeing up McGregor and Baur to push forward and create whilst also gaining a real physical presence badly needed for middle of the park this as well as going back in for Gvidas Genitis also 2 commanding Centre halves and a goalkeeper to finish the rebuild that should have happened in the summer."

Denis Bruce, Bishopbriggs, has warned Celtic fans things will get worse before they get better. He emailed: "Desmond's sins of omission are catching up with the club big time, with his failure to provide the team with a strong spine playing in the Celtic way thanks to his patchy recruitment system.

"The current regime with its puppet board is presiding over the collapse of Celtic. O'Neill must be going through purgatory right now while the fans are going through Hell.

"The Blessed Martin should seek the solace of the Elysian Fields of King's Road where he can reflect in serenity over a quality cup of coffee about the ways things have been going from bad to worse this season by contemplating the shortcomings of the squad handed to him.

"Do not kid yourselves on, my fellow fans, that things are going to get any better at Parkhead ,if the evidence of our eyes is to be believed."

Matthew McDermid was in the firing line on Friday night after being done by a dive for Partick Thistle's penalty against Ayr United and Charles Buchanan reckons it's time up for the whistler: "How long are we going to put up with Mathew McDermid's bad refereeing again? Friday night's game Ayr were done by his poor decision to award Thistle a penalty for the best dive I've seen and he was two yards away from the incident.

"No wonder the Thistle player was laughing when he awarded the penalty. He shouldn't be anywhere near football it's week in week out his mistakes ."

Finally, with Hibs propping up the Premiership table, Robert Burns poetically enquires as to the whereabouts of regular Hotline japester Neil Renton: "Where is Neil Renton on your column these days….Oh wait! Hibs are shedding points faster than autumn leaves."
