Excitement has been building amongst basketball fans in recent weeks following the announcement that the city would be getting their first basketball team. After some promise after their first few games, Liverpool Basketball Club went head-to-head with neighbours Cheshire Phoenix yesterday [Friday, October 30].
Playing at the 11,000 capacity M&S Bank Arena and managed by veteran NBA star Roy Rogers, Liverpool have won three of their first seven league games, defeating Newcastle Eagles, Surrey 89ers and Manchester Basketball. However, they came out narrow losers this time out as they were beaten 117-108 by Cheshire Phoenix.
The Liverpool ECHO were there to watch on for the club's second home game.
