Blackburn Rovers ratings from 2-1 defeat against Stoke City

Will be disappointed with the goal but, in fairness, it was a moment of real quality from McGlynn to find the top corner. Made an excellent save moments before the second goal.

RYAN ALEBIOSU – 6

Had a few bright moments in the early stages before picking up his injury, and hopefully it’s nothing serious.

HAYDEN CARTER – 7

Played well on his return to the backline and was unlucky with a shot that was well saved by Johansson in the first half.

SEAN McLOUGHLIN – 6

Made a couple of important interceptions in the first half as Stoke looked to break quickly, and won his fair share of headers.

HARRY PICKERING – 6

Good effort to get through nearly 70 minutes after his troubles with illness at Swansea over the weekend.

SAM MORSY – 7

Will be disappointed to have given away the free kick for the opener but made amends with a key role in Gudjohnsen’s goal, and did plenty of good work throughout the game.

KRISTI MONTGOMERY – 6

Won back possession on the edge of the Stoke box a couple of times and his team-mates couldn’t quite take advantage.

JAYDEN FEVRIER – 6

Had a couple of decent moments cutting inside onto his left foot but failed to test the goalkeeper enough.

TODD CANTWELL – 6

Denied by an excellent Johansson save during the first half. Got into some dangerous areas but couldn’t quite get the final ball right.

DAPO AFOLAYAN – 6

Might feel he should have done better with his header on the stroke of half time but the cross was slightly behind him.

ANDRI GUDJOHNSEN – 7

Quiet at times but burst into life in the final stages, initially with a poacher’s finish and then a superb header, which was controversially chalked off by the officials.

SUBSTITUTES:

GADY BEYUKU (ALEBIOSU, 41’) - 6

Came on after Alebiosu’s injury and set up Gudjohnsen’s disallowed goal with a lovely cross from the right.

YURI RIBEIRO (PICKERING, 67’)

MOUSSA BARADJI (MONTGOMERY, 67’)

AUGUSTUS KARGBO (FEVRIER, 67’)

OHASHI (AFOLAYAN, 78’)

Unused: Pears, Wharton, Ribeiro, De Neve, Baradji, Garrett, Kargbo, Ohashi
