Stoke-on-Trent football club leads tributes after fan death

RIP Steve

Steve Jennings

A football club is leading tributes after the death of one of their supporters. Steve Jennings was an AFC Stoke fan as well as being a life-long Stoke City supporter.

Steve passed away earlier this week at the age of 62. The tragedy has prompted calls for a minute's applause in Steve's memory during today's Stoke City Championship match at home to Preston North End.

In a social media post, AFC Stoke stated: "We are deeply saddened by the passing of our dear friend Steve Jennings. You were truly one in a million, your kindness, humour and love shone through always. A life-long Stoke City fan and supporter of our first team since they were U8s with your son Matty. We will never forget the countless memories, a particular highlight being the Menorca tour in 2019. A great friend and true gentleman, our thoughts are with your family at this difficult time. Rest in peace Steve."
