Back
AC Milan are back in action in front of their own fans this evening as they take on Ferencvaros in the Europa League.
It is a must-win game for Milan at San Siro, not just because they want to build off their derby victory against Inter on Saturday night, but also given the fact that they have lost two of three in Europe so far so they need to start climbing the table.
They face a side that have racked up 21 games unbeaten across all competitions and have won all three in the UEL so far, so it will be far from an easy task especially with Ruben Amorim’s plan to heavily rotate again.
The newspapers in Italy are understandably dominated by Como’s nine-goal rout of RC Lens and Napoli’s collapse, but each of them mention Milan’s big game too.
La Gazzetta dello Sport: “Milan: now or never in Europe. Ferencváros arrives. San Siro, 18:45: the momentum from the derby to help them climb back up.”
Corriere dello Sport: “A new-look Milan, with Torriani in goal. Maignan out due to suspension. Amorim: ‘Enough dwelling on the derby, we need consistency’. Just three points from three matches: on the attack with Ramos.”
Tuttosport: “Milan, a €500m boost. A 10-year agreement starting from the 2028-29 season with long-term technical sponsor Adidas: they’ve overtaken Juve and nearly doubled the figure for Inter.
“A win is a must at San Siro today to climb the Europa League standings. Amorim: ‘It’s worth more than the derby.’ Cisse to lead the attack alongside Ramos.”
QS: “Milan, boosted by the derby. Ferencváros in Europe: a chance for another turning point.”
