Auburn quarterback Byrum Brown is a part of this week's Davey O'Brien Great 8 after a strong performance in the Tigers' win over Georgia. The Davey O'Brien's Great 8 recognizes eight quarterbacks each week for their high-quality performances.
Byrum Brown joins Trinidad Chambliss of Ole Miss, West Virginia’s Michael Hawkins Jr., Cale Hellums of Army, Texas State’s Brad Jackson, Sam Leavitt of LSU and Houston’s Conner Weigman on this week's list after throwing for 150 yards through the air and picking up 115 yards on the ground.
Saturday was the second straight game Brown passed for and rushed for over 100 yards, and he has now scored at least one passing and one rushing touchdown in four straight games, joining fellow Auburn quarterbacks Cam Newton and Nick Marshall in accomplishing the feat. He was only sacked once and kept it clean with no turnovers. He also earned the SEC Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts in Athens.
Brown and the Tigers will now prepare to take on a fellow week seven O'Brien's Great 8 member, LSU's Sam Leavitt. Auburn plays LSU on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. CT
