Sir Andy Murray is swapping tennis courts for television cameras as he prepares to give viewers an unprecedented glimpse of life with his wife Kim Sears in a new reality documentary following their ambitious Scottish hotel renovation

The three-time Grand Slam champion, 39, and Kim, 38, will appear in Channel 4's three-part series Our Scottish Hotel, documenting their efforts to transform the five-star Cromlix Hotel near Dunblane.

Andy bought the property for £2 million in 2013, the year he became the first British man in 77 years to win the Wimbledon singles title, and the couple subsequently held their wedding reception there in 2015.

Kim said: “The last couple of years have been really full of change at Cromlix with a huge building project and a totally new direction for fine dining and wellness, and I was really keen to document that as there were so many personal stories and interesting discoveries along the way.

“Andy and I haven’t worked on anything together before, so that was a fascinating process – and a learning curve.

“I’ve loved shaping this building and estate into what’s now become a really thriving and much-loved Scottish business. I hope people enjoy watching the show and meeting the team behind the hotel.”

The documentary will follow the couple and the hotel's approximately 80 employees as they undertake a major refurbishment, including the renovation of an existing wing and the creation of two restaurants.

The project represents a significant change of pace for Andy, who retired from professional tennis following the Paris Olympics in 2024 after a career that included three Grand Slam singles titles, two Olympic singles gold medals and a spell as world number one.

Since retiring, Andy has also pursued golf and briefly returned to elite tennis as a coach, working with former rival Novak Djokovic, 39, following an agreement announced in late 2024.

His coaching partnership with the Serbian champion ended in May 2025.

He has continued to maintain a connection with the sport, while his ambition to improve his golf handicap has become another focus of retirement.

The Cromlix development has already brought substantial changes to the estate.

Following a five-month closure earlier this year, the hotel reopened in June with additional bedrooms, a woodland wellness retreat and two restaurants, the Garden Room and Cradle.

Cradle has since received recognition in the Michelin Guide, adding another milestone to the couple's hospitality venture.

The forthcoming documentary, scheduled to air in December, was filmed over almost a year and follows the financial and logistical challenges involved in carrying out the work while maintaining the hotel's five-star standards.

Emily Shields, Channel 4's commissioning editor, said: “Cromlix is a fascinating world to step inside, and this series offers a rare glimpse behind the scenes of a business where no detail is overlooked.”

She added: “Kim and Andy are embarking on an ambitious transformation, but at its heart this is a story about people: the team whose hard work brings Cromlix to life, and the shared desire to create something truly special.”

The property, close to Andy's childhood home, has particular significance for the couple, who married at Dunblane Cathedral before celebrating their reception at the hotel.

The latest accounts for Andy's company, 77 Management, which owns Cromlix, valued the hotel at £21.4 million.

The three hour-long episodes will also document the contribution of the hotel's staff, the challenges of construction and the couple's decisions about the future of the estate.
