Seahawks may benefit from pursuing trade for Giants star RB

The Seattle Seahawks may benefit from pursuing a trade for New York Giants running back Tyrone Tracy Jr., who currently stands as a talented young ball-carrier with considerable upside that the team's offensive backfield may need moving forward.

Tracy is no longer the primary running back in the Giants' offensive backfield that he was as a rookie in 2024, or even the clear-cut high-usage backup that he was behind Cam Skattebo prior to the latter’s injury last season, which has limited his opportunities to establish himself in New York’s ground game up until now. Even Skattebo's recent demotion did not result in Tracy receiving a large sum of carries in New York's most recent game against the New Orleans Saints, as he finished with only six carries in the loss, which makes him a player worth pursuing for Seattle given the nature of his status in New York.

Tracy's previous production demonstrates the potential that he has to bring to Seattle. He surpassed 1,000 yards from scrimmage in each of his first two seasons in the league from 2024-25, recording 1,123 yards in 2024 and 1,028 in 2025. Still young at only 26 years old, Tracy has the tools and experience to develop into a 1,000-yard rusher if given a consistent workload.

The Seahawks stand to gain from adding another talented option to their running back rotation. George Holani has experienced his share of struggles this season, while Emanuel Wilson has had highs and lows throughout the year. Bringing in Tracy may provide Seattle with a young, established alternative capable of offering stability and production as both a rusher and a pass-catcher for years to come.
