Demi Vollering ends the 2026 season as the undisputed world number one in the final UCI women's individual rankings, finishing almost 4,000 points clear of her nearest rival. Kasia Niewiadoma takes second place, while Paula Blasi completes the podium ahead of several of women's cycling's biggest established stars.

Vollering finishes the year on 9,330 points, a remarkable 3,670 clear of Niewiadoma on 5,660. The FDJ United - SUEZ leader won both the Giro d'Italia Women and Tour de France Femmes, alongside a spring campaign that brought victories at the Tour of Flanders, Flèche Wallonne and Liège-Bastogne-Liège.

She then added her first elite road race world title in Montréal, beating Niewiadoma in a dramatic two-up sprint, with Elisa Longo Borghini taking bronze. Remarkably, Vollering's final points tally stands just 1.8 points below Tadej Pogacar's winning total in the men's standings.

Niewiadoma's second place reflects her consistency across the season, even if victories proved harder to secure. The Polish rider finished runner-up at the Tour de France Femmes, where she won the stage to Mont Ventoux, before adding World Championship silver. She also finished second at Strade Bianche, Omloop Het Nieuwsblad and Amstel Gold Race.

Paula Blasi's breakthrough puts her among cycling's elite

Paula Blasi finishes third on 5,201.3 points after a breakthrough season that included victories at Amstel Gold Race and the Vuelta Femenina. The 23-year-old Spaniard secured the latter by overturning Anna van der Breggen's advantage on the final climb of the Angliru, finishing second on the stage to claim her first Grand Tour title.

Blasi subsequently finished fifth at the Tour de France Femmes and will take that form into 2027 with Movistar Team, following her high-profile departure from UAE Team L'IMAD.

Her UAE teammate Longo Borghini finishes fourth on 5,109.3 points, having won the UAE Tour Women and completed the Tour de France Femmes podium. The pair were central to UAE's success in the team rankings, where the squad overtook Vollering's FDJ United - SUEZ in the final week of racing to finish first by just 262.66 points.

Lorena Wiebes completes the individual top five with 4,935 points. The Team SD Worx - Protime sprinter recorded 24 victories during 2026, including two Tour de France Femmes stages and a clean sweep of all three stages and the overall classification at the Tour of Chongming Island.

Van der Breggen and Lotte Kopecky occupy sixth and seventh, giving SD Worx three riders inside the top seven. World time trial champion Marlen Reusser finishes eighth, while Tour de France Femmes mountains classification winner Puck Pieterse takes ninth and Paris-Roubaix Femmes winner Franziska Koch rounds out the top ten.

Ferrand-Prévot and Marianne Vos finish outside the top 30

Further down the standings, Pauline Ferrand-Prévot ends a difficult 2026 season in 34th place with 1,462 points. Having won the Tour de France Femmes in 2025, the Frenchwoman struggled during her title defence and abandoned the race through illness before eventually ending her season early.

Her Team Visma | Lease a Bike teammate Marianne Vos finishes 38th on 1,267 points, despite coming agonisingly close to another Paris-Roubaix Femmes victory in April, when she was beaten in the Roubaix velodrome by Koch.

Among the younger riders, Welsh talent Zoe Bäckstedt finishes 31st with 1,676 points after taking silver behind Reusser in the elite World Championship time trial. Cat Ferguson occupies 44th and Marion Bunel finishes 46th, while reigning cyclocross world champion Lucinda Brand closes her road season in 76th place with 663 points.
