There wasn't going to be any other result.
The Jacksonville Jaguars routed a Baltimore Ravens side without its top two quarterbacks in Lamar Jackson and backup Tyler Huntley, winning 33-10 on Thursday Night Football.
Baltimore gave the starting nod to 25-year-old undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano, but it was clear he couldn't hang at the required level.
Jacksonville is now 6-2 in an intriguing AFC race, while the Ravens fell to 4-5 in what is increasingly becoming a lost season.
Let's analyze the Week 9 opener further with winners and losers:
The term "scheduled losses" is well-known in sports. So, what about the opposite? Jacksonville came into this game knowing it'd be a whole lot easier to win without Jackson on the opposing sideline.
The Jaguars still had to do the work to avoid a brutal upset on the road, but this was as free as a win can get for an NFL team in the playoff mix. How strong the 6-2 side truly is will be tested down the road, but they should enjoy this while they can.
Unfortunately, the Ravens didn't really stand a chance. Fagnano had seven years of college experience, but didn't stand out until his final year in 2025.
The skill gap was evident, as he completed just 10 of 18 passes for 60 yards and two interceptions. Quarterbacks have to be able to throw. The Ravens have help in that position planned as they try to salvage their season, but Fagnano shouldn't be starting another game if the scenario comes up.
JAGS PICK.

The Jaguars could've been more ruthless on the scoreboard given the field positions they generated, whether off a turnover or by moving the ball against a timid Ravens defense. They shouldn't have finished with just 33 points.
So the next winner nod goes to kicker Cam Little, who continues to be a reliable source of points. He converted all four field-goal attempts and all three PATs, with his longest kick being from 47 yards out.
The rain fell harder as the game progressed, and it definitely affected how each team operated on offense. Both sides tried prioritizing the run game, even though that was Baltimore's plan from the beginning.
But turnovers played a role. Travis Hunter lost a fumble on a wide-receiver screen, while Baltimore dropped three balls, recovering two. LaJohntay Webster lost one, while Mark Andrews dropped the ball under center on a short fourth-down attempt. Baltimore recovered, but turned it over on downs.
It's wet out there. Jags take over.

Brissett is becoming the textbook definition of a journeyman quarterback. Brissett, who turns 34 in December, is reportedly headed to Baltimore this weekend from the Arizona Cardinals. Arizona decided to move on with fellow veteran Gardner Minshew, clearing the path for Baltimore to make a move.
He will slot into Baltimore's QB1 slot straight away as Jackson's season is on the line with a thumb issue. Will he be enough to keep Baltimore in the mix? The team's upcoming schedule is favorable, but their level goes down a lot without Jackson. Still, Brissett will help more than the current QB situation.
Lamar Jackson has been dazzling fans since his high school days in Florida. Here are five things to know about the Baltimore Ravens quarterback.
