Kansas City Chiefs defensive back Nohl Williams spoke recently with reporters. He said he's pursuing greatness now that he's more comfortable on defense.
"Yeah, with each snap, I get more comfortable with myself and the system and the guys I play around and play with every day," said Williams, "So, with each rip, I feel like I can take it to another level."
Williams has shown versatility this season as a pass rusher and in coverage. He's played a variety of roles in the secondary, greatly contributing to defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo's game plans. Williams returned an interception by Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold for a 64-yard gain late in the first half of last night's loss, preventing a Seattle scoring drive.
"It comes from being on this team and the guys I'm working with, the people I'm getting coached by," said Williams. "Learning from mistakes is the only way to get better, so I understand if I can home in on those and fix those; that will help our defense and our team win more games."
The Chiefs entered last night's game with the league's No. 2 scoring defense and ranked near the top in several categories, including missed tackle rate (1st), red zone touchdown efficiency (2nd), and points allowed per drive (2nd).
