Michigan football could have been ranked this week if the Wolverines could have finished some drives or made some field goals. Could have been.
But the maize and blue were moribund offensively against a good Indiana defense, and with questionable play calling, several chances were squandered. Michigan took IU to overtime, but lost 13-6 at The Big House, the first time the Hoosiers won in Ann Arbor since 1967.
The coaches voted on the best teams in the sport, and obviously, Michigan wasn’t ranked. The Wolverines now only have two ranked opponents left in the US LBM Coaches Poll, with Oregon losing to Illinois and dropping out. But Michigan still faces No. 2 Ohio State and No. 7 UCLA.
Here are the full rankings.
