Cris Collinsworth has come under fire for his latest remarks on Sunday Night Football, as critics continue to call on the NBC analyst to issue an apology over his comments

NBC commentator Cris Collinsworth is facing calls to apologize after his remarks during Sunday Night Football sparked criticism.

The Atlanta Falcons put in a strong defensive performance against the Baltimore Ravens on SNF, despite losing 30-23 in overtime. Baltimore secured the win without injured quarterback Lamar Jackson, but Collinsworth drew criticism for a remark about Falcons defenders Cameron Thomas and Zach Harrison during the broadcast.

He said that Atlanta has “non-name guys up front. … [They’re] making plays and sacks in the background, and they’re keeping the Atlanta Falcons in it.” However the comments didn't go down well with fans on X, including a former NFL player.

“Cris Collinsworth has a full breakdown of both rosters in front of him, every player, yet he keeps calling the Falcons DLine ‘no-name guys.’ Stop disrespecting man,” said former Pittsburgh Steelers defensive lineman Breiden Fehoko.

Other fans agreed. "Collinsworth constantly saying 'these no-name guys' about Falcons defenders over and over is disrespectful as f----. Like it's YOUR JOB TO KNOW THEM," another said.

A different fan listed key players on the Atlanta defense. "Did Collinsworth just casually say the Atlanta Falcons defense is made up of a bunch of nobodies? Like ik they don't have Myles Garrett, but they still have some Dawgs on that roster. Gervon Dexter? Jessie Bates? Xavier Watts???" they wrote.

Collinsworth will return to the broadcast booth this evening when the Green Bay Packers face the Dallas Cowboys in Week 6.

The Packers and the Cowboys meet on Sunday Night Football with both teams looking to improve their position in the NFC.

Green Bay enters the matchup at 3-2 after beating the Chicago Bears 31-7, while Dallas is 2-3 following a defeat to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Cowboys' latest loss prompted linebacker DeMarvion Overshown to reveal that the team's defensive players had held a meeting to assess their performances and discuss whether they were meeting the team's standards.

The Packers will look to build on an impressive all-round display against Chicago, with quarterback Jordan Love completing 25 of 31 passes for 367 yards and two touchdowns. Green Bay's defense also played a key role, forcing turnovers as the team built a commanding lead before securing the 31-7 victory.

Dallas, meanwhile, will need to address its defensive struggles while ensuring Dak Prescott has the protection and opportunities to make an impact.

With Love and Prescott leading their respective offenses, Sunday's matchup offers both teams a chance to respond to their contrasting performances in Week 5.
