Arsenal and Bayern Munich are among the best teams in the Champions League this season.
The Gunners have had a great start to the campaign, winning each of their first two games against Napoli and Lille. Vincent Kompany’s side, on the other hand, won their first fixture, but they were held to a shock draw by Viking.
What made that worse was that Michael Olise received a red card in that game and will now be suspended when Bayern host Arsenal next week.
That has resulted in fans of the German club coming to a unanimous conclusion.
Arsenal faced Bayern Munich in November last year, and the Gunners produced one of their best performances of the season.
Jurrien Timber, Noni Madueke and Gabriel Martinelli scored the goals in a very impressive 3-1 win at the Emirates Stadium.
On Wednesday, Arsenal will face Bayern again, this time away from home. It will surely be a tough game, but fans of the Bavarian club seem to have already accepted defeat.
One tweeted: “I’m one of the most realistic Bayern fans you will meet. We will lose against Arsenal.”
Another wrote: “The Arsenal game is already lost without Olise and Musiala.”
“Olise basically lost us five points in the Champions League. Two against Viking and three next week against Arsenal. Pathetic,” said another.
Another Bayern fan posted: “Without Olise vs Arsenal? Oh boy…”
“What are we doing, man? There was no need for that. Now we are dead against Arsenal,” tweeted another.
“I understand football can be frustrating, but you have to be smarter. You’ve cost us now in a big match vs Arsenal,” said another.
If Arsenal fans had to name two European clubs who have given them painful nights, everyone would say Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
Younger Gooners will know all about the times when Bayern hammered Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal. There was a time when the North Londoners lost three consecutive games 5-1, which was embarrassing.
Now, Arteta has well and truly changed Arsenal fans’ lives, because Bayern supporters are giving up before a ball is even kicked against the Gunners.
If you had said this to a Gooner a decade ago, they wouldn’t have believed you. Now, it is the truth, which shows just how far they have come as a club.
