Ennis vs. Kelly Winner Targeted By Sebastian Fundora

Sebastian Fundora wants the Jaron Ennis–Josh Kelly winner next, but a potential Ennis fight comes with a financial obstacle: promoter Sampson Lewkowicz’s demand for a 50-50 purse split.

Fundora called for undisputed after stopping Ermal Hadribeaj with one second remaining in the 12th round. The WBC junior middleweight champion sounded ready to pursue the other belts, although agreeing on an opponent is only part of getting a unification made.

“Absolutely, let’s go for undisputed,” Fundora told DAZN when asked about facing the Ennis–Kelly winner. “We will break them down like we broke this guy, like the guy before that, before that, and before. We’ll keep breaking these guys down.”

Fundora (25-1-1, 17 KOs) had just completed his fourth successful title defense, wearing down Hadribeaj with short punches and sustained body work before dropping him with a left hand at 2:59 of the final round.

That performance supported his description of breaking opponents down. Hadribeaj made the early rounds competitive by crowding Fundora, but the champion gradually took over through his greater activity inside.

Getting Ennis into the ring could require a different kind of patience. Lewkowicz has called for an equal split for Fundora against Ennis, leaving the financial terms as something the camps would have to resolve if Ennis beats Kelly.

There is no agreement established by Fundora’s post-fight comments, nor do they show that Ennis has accepted or rejected those terms. The potential obstacle is whether an equal split becomes a firm condition or a starting position in negotiations.

Fundora has made his preference clear. If Ennis wins, the next question will be whether the promoters can find a price both sides accept and turn that undisputed ambition into a scheduled fight.

Tonight’s showing only hurts Fundora’s negotiating position. Needing until the final second of the twelfth round to finish a gritty but limited challenger like Hadribeaj showed the exact vulnerabilities that have always followed Fundora. He surrenders his 6’6″ frame, stays glued in the pocket, eats clean shots on the inside, and relies strictly on outlasting foes in a war of attrition.
