The Cincinnati Bengals offense might be the best in football right now. Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins are giving opposing defenses nightmares; Chase Brown and Samaje Perine are doing their jobs, and Joe Burrow is lighting it up.
The Bengals are 6-2, in prime position to make the playoffs and compete with the Steelers for the AFC North crown. After a couple of tough years, the NFL world is behind the Bengals and Burrow’s dominant first half of 2026.
Burrow is balling right now. He’s thrown for 16 touchdowns in his last four games, all of which the Bengals have won. Only three interceptions in that time as well, with all of them coming last week against Tennessee. He’s up to 26 total touchdowns and six interceptions.
Burrow has played his way into the MVP conversation, and the NFL world thinks the same.
“Joe Burrow might get his MVP this year,” said NFL insider Ari Meirov.
“Guys!!! Joe Burrow is really that dude!! Sheesh! Has to be against some sort of rule to give him Jettas and Ja’marr in college and then add tee in the league with Ja’marr! Like c’mon Roger,” said NFL analyst Ryan Clark.
Robert Griffin III knows how to play quarterback in the NFL. He won Rookie of the Year and made a Pro Bowl for the Washington Redskins. While his career was derailed by injuries, he was elite at his best and offered plenty of praise for Burrow.
“Joe Burrow is the MVP front runner half way through the season. He is playing better than ever,” said Griffin III.
“NFL MVP race 1. Joe Burrow 2. Trevor Lawrence,” added NFL writer Jarrett Bailey.
Burrow ranks first in PFN’s NFL QB Impact metric with a grade of 89.9. PFN currently lists him at +9.7 CPOE and a 54.7% success rate per dropback, and ranks among the top five in many other categories.
He’ll likely have to beat out Josh Allen and Trevor Lawrence if he wants to capture his first MVP. If he keeps playing lights out, the award should be his.
“Joe Burrow is Cold,” said podcaster Malik Wright.
The Bengals carry their four-game win streak into the biggest game of their season next week against the Steelers. If they win, they will move a game ahead of the Steelers and even up the head-to-head tiebreaker against Pittsburgh, which could save their chances of winning the AFC North come the end of the season.
No one wants to see this Bengals offense right now with Burrow, Chase, and Higgins playing like this, especially not the Steelers.
