T.J. Watt Makes History vs. Browns

With a sack late in the second quarter, Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker T.J. Watt now has 19.5 career sacks against the Cleveland in his career, which is the most by any player against the Browns in NFL history. He is the ninth player in NFL history to hold sack records vs. multiple teams (Cleveland, 19.5; Baltimore, 17.0).

In the Steelers’ Week 4 loss to the Browns, Watt recorded four tackles, one sack, two tackles for loss, one forced fumble and one pass defended.

Watt moved into a tie with Richard Dent and Simeon Rice for 16th in league history with the forced fumble on Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson in Week 4.

Watt is a forced fumble away from setting the Steelers’ franchise record for forced fumbles with 38. He is currently tied with Greg Lloyd.

A strong case certainly could be made that the officials robbed Watt of a strip sack and recovery in the second quarter in last Sunday’s win over the New Orleans Saints in Paris.

It was determined that even though the ball was moving in Saints quarterback Tyler Shough’s hands, he maintained control until his knee hit the ground, so the Saints kept possession. New Orleans ultimately kicked a field goal to tie the game at 3-3.
