The Daily: Red Wings Start November Cold; Edvinsson Sighted but not Signed

The Red Wings have lost three of their last four games, with their latest loss coming with the debut of their Hometown Remix uniforms in last night’s 2-1 loss to the Las Vegas Golden Knights.

Daniil Tarasov, playing his third game in a row backstopping the Red Wings stopped 32 of 34 shots on the night. However, despite the solid from the Russian in net, Detroit was unable to come out with the win, despite playing a mostly complete game.

“We kept a Stanley Cup caliber team to one, made one mistake at the end and it’s in the net.” Said head coach Todd McLellan postgame.

Still, the Red Wings are a team that wants victories in the standings, not moral ones, and those are hard to come by for a group like this. Detroit has a heavy away schedule as they start the month, with the game against Vegas being their only opportunity before Nov. 18 to play in front of a home crowd.

With the Red Wings hitting the road once more for a four-game trip, they’ll want to get things back on track before they fall further behind in the Atlantic standings. With their next game scheduled at altitude in the Mile High City, this will certainly be an opportunity for this Red Wings team to make a statement about their identity against the Colorado Avalanche.

In Case You Missed It

Simon Edvinsson was spotted skating in Nashville in his Red Wings gear.

Henrik Zetterberg isn’t a fan of how Steve Yzerman’s GM exit went down.

Red Wings Extra

There have been plenty of impressive Red Wings prospects this year, including the team’s most recent 6th round pick, Luka Arkko. The Finnish winger has brought a heavy shot and a strong scoring presence to the US after joining the OHL Erie Otters this summer.

Arkko has 7 goals in 14 games for the Otters so far.
