One of Tennessee football’s top commits in the 2027 class, four-star offensive lineman Q’Mari Hudson, has shut down his recruitment. He announced on Friday that he will no longer be looking at any other schools and is locked in with the Vols.

Hudson is a four-star on 247 Composite. The site ranks him as the No. 387 player in the nation, No. 38 offensive tackle and No. 9 player from the state of Virginia. He is from Chesapeake, Virginia, and plays for Western Branch.

“The recruitment is officially closed,” Hudson posted on his X. “First, I want to thank every coach, program, and person who has been part of this journey. I’m blessed to have had the opportunity to build relationships with so many great programs, but it’s time to focus on what’s next. The job isn’t finished.”

Hudson stands at 6-foot-4.5 and weighs 330 pounds. He is a two-way player on both sides of the line in high school, but will play offensive line at the next level. His primary recruiter at Tennessee is offensive line coach Glen Elarbee.

Hudson took his official visit to Tennessee on June 5 after also seeing Virginia Tech. He considered Virginia, too, but didn’t take an official visit to see the Hoos. Hudson announced his verbal commitment to the Vols on June 13.

The four-star lineman is one of 19 commits for Tennessee in the 2027 class. The top player in the group is five-star running back David Gabriel Georges, who slots as the No. 11 player in the nation and No. 2 running back on 247. Other four-stars in the boat include wide receiver Kesean Bowman, linebacker Kenneth Simon II, tight end Malik Howard, offensive tackle Niko Kampas, offensive tackle Princeton Uwaifo and safety Marcus Jones.
