Charles Leclerc will soon become a father. On social media, the Ferrari driver shared that he is already practicing for that.
Like Max Verstappen and Fernando Alonso, who became fathers in recent seasons, Leclerc will soon welcome a child while competing on the Formula 1 grid. After marrying Alexandra Saint Mleux, the Ferrari driver is now expecting his first child with his wife. The baby will join their family alongside Leo, their dachshund.
After the Formula 1 tripleheader, the Monegasque driver took a break from racing, unlike Verstappen. He spent time with family and friends in Tuscany, Italy, before traveling to this weekend's United States Grand Prix.
In his caption on Instagram, he wrote: "Beautiful birthday in Tuscany and the first practice with the stroller went well."
In Singapore, the Monegasque driver finished second behind Verstappen and Red Bull Racing. Speaking after the race, he was asked about the pace of the SF-26 and whether he believes Ferrari are still lagging behind their rivals.
He began: "Yeah, I still feel that way. However, it's true that we brought some small new parts to the car, which maybe helped us to do another step forward, but it's not enough.
"We'll push until the end and we've still got to bring some new things to the car to be at the level. But I think today we had a good pace overall," the Ferrari driver concluded.
His teammate, Lewis Hamilton, is also on the same page. He previously told Sky Sports: "It's just that we know we're down on power, and that's something that we just live with. We have to catch up for next year. We live with that deficit for the rest of this year.
"But still, the car is improving, and I think we've got races coming up ahead that hopefully we'll still be able to get maybe a little bit closer," he added.
