On the one hand, you have Celtic setting themselves up to fail by not securing Champions League football for the second season running.
Then, on the other hand, you have Como 1907, only recently a part-time team in Italy’s lower leagues, scoring a ridiculous nine goals in a single Champions League game.

After just three wins in 10, what tactical changes do you want to see from Martin O'Neill to change Celtic's fortunes vs Besiktas?
Valle spent six months at Celtic, when he was on a loan deal from Barcelona, but then his deal was cut short, and he joined Como.
It wasn’t explained why Valle didn’t stay at Celtic, with the champions of Scotland signing Jeffrey Schlupp on a short deal instead.
Either way, that was the last time Celtic played in the Champions League, as Valle has gone from strength to strength since then.
Valle assisted Como’s second goal of the night, scored by Anastasios Douvikas, with the Greek star helping himself to a hat-trick.
As mentioned above, it wasn’t so long ago that Como were in the lower leagues in Italy, and they were a part-time side.
Yet fast forward to the present, and with ambitious and forward-thinking owners, they are now part of history, including joining the European elite with Liverpool and Real Madrid, in terms of the biggest victories in Champions League history.

Unfortunately for Celtic, they have suffered their fair share of pain in the Champions League, including heavy defeats by a seven-goal margin.
In 2016, a Celtic side managed by Brendan Rodgers came up against perhaps the greatest front three of all time: Neymar, Luis Suarez, and Lionel Messi.
Messi helped himself to a hat-trick, while Neymar and a Suarez brace resulted in the Hoops suffering on that difficult evening at the Nou Camp.

While Celtic have fallen further over the decades, when it comes to competing in Europe, it’s much worse now.
Forget about playing amongst Europe’s best; Celtic are now struggling in the Europa League, as the standards of this great club have severely dropped because of those at the top.
