Paris Saint-Germain showed once again why they're the kings in Europe by beating in-form Barcelona 4-2 in a back-and-forth bout. There were also high-scoring wins for Manchester City and Liverpool - but in vastly different circumstances.
Topping the bill was the clash in Paris, and it was the hosts who took the lead first when Desire Doue capitalised on a mistake from Lamine Yamal and curled in a sumptuous finish. Barcelona nearly hit back through Fermin Lopez, who'd replaced the injured Dani Olmo in the first half, but he was denied by a combination of Matvei Safonov and Willian Pacho.
Barca didn't take long to level things, though. 10 minutes into the second half, 19-year-old Xavi Espart driving down the right and beating Safonov for power just after Achraf Hakimi had missed a golden opportunity. But for all the technical quality on the pitch, it was a set piece that decided the game.
After Ferran Torres missed a chance from close range against his former club, Lucas Hernandez powered home a header from the resulting corner. But Yamal still had something to say.

Minutes after Warren Zaire-Emery entered the fray and was tasked with dealing with him, the Barcelona superstar blazed past the PSG substitute and prodded the ball past Safonov at his near post. Zaire-Emery's misery would then turn to relief only two minutes later when Vintinha hit an audacious effort from the edge of Barca's box, and the ball nestled into the back of the net past the sprawling Joan Garcia.
After Fabian Ruiz's clincher, it was another statement win for the holders but also highlighted their imperfections. PSG's night was blotted by an injuries to three of their best players - Ousmane Dembele, Marquinhos and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
At the Etihad, City took an early lead through Elliot Anderson, who had a tap-in after Rayan Cherki's free-kick hit the crossbar. Enzo Maresca's side doubled their lead when Phil Foden played a neat one-two with Rico Lewis and fired home.
Athens threatened a comeback shortly after the break when Stavros Pilios scored, but Cherki made it 3-1 just five minutes later. It then turned into the Foden show, as the City star grabbed a hat-trick in a 5-1 battering.

It was less straightforward for Liverpool, who came from 2-0 down to beat Villarreal. An error from Virgil van Dijk allowed the La Liga side to go in front with four minutes on the clock before Sergi Cardona made it two.
But a brace from Alexis Mac Allister and header from Ronald Araujo flipped the game on its head. Florian Wirtz then grabbed a much-needed goal to make it 4-2 before a consolation effort from the visitors. It ended 4-3, as Liverpool followed PSG by making it three wins from three games in the Champions League.
In the early kick-offs, Borussia Dortmund survived a scare to claim a 2-1 win away to Sabah. Fenerbahce, meanwhile, failed to convert their fast start and threw away a two-goal lead against Slavia Prague, who picked up their first point of the campaign as the league table starts to take shape.
Later on, Napoli and Bodo/Glimt played out a seven-goal thriller, with the Italians coming out on top to win 4-3. Roma were also big winners against Slovan Bratislava, hammering them 4-0.
PSV also snatched a 1-0 victory at Porto thanks to a goal from Guus Til. And in Germany, the points were shared as Stuttgart drew 1-1 with Atletico Madrid, who played the final half-hour with 10 men.
