Mohamed Belloumi will be desperate to rediscover his goalscoring touch for Hull City when they face Ipswich Town, with the Algerian looking to bounce back after failing to make the difference in recent matches against Fulham and Brentford.

Despite those recent blanks, the dynamic attacker remains the home side's leading offensive threat, having already registered an impressive three goals and two assists this season.

Belloumi will be tasked with supplying Oli McBurnie, who opened his account for the campaign from the penalty spot last week and hopes to add to his top-flight tally after previously recording two six-goal Premier League campaigns and netting 17 Championship goals in 2025-26.

Sergej Jakirovic is dealing with a surfeit of injuries ahead of the clash, with Eliot Matazo, Matt Targett, Ilyas Ansah, Darko Gyabi and Charlie Hughes all confirmed absentees due to various knee, ankle, back and groin issues.

Furthermore, Lucas Gourna-Douath, Nobel Mendy and Jack Butland are considered major doubts with respective calf, groin and arm problems and will be rigorously assessed before kick-off.

In the absence of several key figures, Tim Iroegbunam and Regan Slater are expected to anchor the engine room, flanked by Belloumi and Jared Stroud in the wide areas.

At the back, a robust five-man rearguard consisting of Lewie Coyle, Semi Ajayi, John Egan, Alfie Herrington and Ryan Giles will be deployed to protect goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis between the sticks.

Hull City possible starting lineup:

Tzolakis; Coyle, Ajayi, Egan, Herrington, Giles; Belloumi, Iroegbunam, Slater, Stroud; McBurnie
