Chiefs players spent last weekend supporting college football programs

The Kansas City Chiefs were off the field last week, and players and coaches enjoyed some free time. Two players tried to support their college football programs last Saturday.

Chiefs rookie running back Emmett Johnson stayed around for football last weekend, attending Nebraska's game against Indiana and joining fans for the pregame festivities. The favored defending national champion Indiana defeated Nebraska 20-17.

In four seasons at Nebraska, Johnson rushed for 2,460 yards and 15 touchdowns on 458 attempts. He also had 92 receptions for 702 receiving yards and five touchdowns. Through four games this season with the Chiefs, Johnson has 16 carries for 56 yards.

Kansas City starting linebacker Nick Bolton returned to Missouri for the Tigers' 27-6 win over Texas A&M last Saturday in Columbia.

During his college football career at Missouri, Bolton earned First-Team All-SEC honors in 2019 and 2020, and Second-Team All-American honors in 2020. He was recently inducted into the Missouri Athletic Hall of Fame, and through four games this season with the Chiefs, Bolton has 37 combined tackles.
