The Washington Commanders finally got their second win of the season when they faced off against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday Night Football. Now, they are looking to build off that momentum with another win against the Los Angeles Rams.
Washington will be facing quite a challenge defensively when they take on the Rams. Los Angeles has a high-powered offense, although they are short on pass-catchers with Davante Adams on injured reserve and tight end Terrance Ferguson ruled out for the game. But, they are getting Myles Garrett back on defense. It will be just the second game he plays in this season and the first time he has played since the season opener against the San Francisco 49ers in Australia.
However, Commanders receiver Stefon Diggs maintains this game is more about Washington than about the Rams. He points to the mistakes the Commanders made in the first quarter in their win against the Eagles to show how Washington has shot themselves in the foot.
“I think the main thing is just executing. It’s more about us rather than the Rams,” Diggs said. “They got a hell of a football team, but as you can kind of see, throughout the game, especially in that first quarter, it wasn’t nobody but us. We can’t come out like that and for us to play at a high level and be the offense we want to be. We got to execute better.”
Diggs was expected to get more action since Terry McLaurin’s season-ending injury against the San Francisco 49ers. However, his snap counts have not severely increased and instead, the Commanders have turned more to Treylon Burks and rookie Antonio Williams.
