Despite two straight losses, Duke is still firmly on track to gain bowl eligibility for the fifth straight season, a program record.
With half the season over, the Blue Devils’ bowl projections are all over the place against a myriad of teams, including two SEC teams that were early-season College Football Playoff favorites.
Here are the latest bowl projections for Manny Diaz’s squad.
Wasabi Fenway Bowl, Fenway Park (Boston, Mass.)
The Blue Devils and Bulls have never met.
Freedom Mortgage Military Bowl, Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium (Annapolis, Maryland)
Duke is 14-11-1 all-time against the Black Knights; the last meeting was a 34-14 Blue Devils’ win in 2018.
Poinsettia Bowl, Snapdragon Stadium (San Diego, Calif.)
The Beavers beat Duke in their only meeting, coming back in 1941.
Gator Bowl, EverBank Stadium (Jacksonville, Fla.)
The series is tied 1-1, but the Blue Devils and Tigers haven’t met since 1958.
Wasabi Fenway Bowl, Fenway Park (Boston, Mass.)
Duke is 2-0 against the Tigers, with both wins coming in back-to-back years (2012-13).
Gasparilla Bowl, Raymond James Stadium (Tampa, Fla.)
A matchup against Mike Elko’s Aggies would give Duke some extra momentum. The Aggies won their only meeting, a wild 52-48 win in the 2013 Chick-fil-A Bowl.
