Through the first four games of the season, Golden State Warriors rookie Yaxel Lendeborg has stolen all the headlines. The recent NCAA champion has excelled at the NBA level to begin his career, showcasing a higher floor and ceiling than originally expected by draft experts.
In four games to begin his NBA career, the former Michigan Wolverines forward is averaging 21.8 points, 9.3 rebounds, 4.8 assists, one steal and 0.5 blocks in 33.3 minutes per game while shooting 45% from the field and 34.6% from 3-point range. Following Golden State's first victory of the season versus the Denver Nuggets, Lendeborg's teammate, two-time MVP Stephen Curry, had kind words to say about the rookie.
"He's just got composure and feel. He's a matchup problem, but he's never really in a hurry. Kind of the full package."
Having combined for 55 points in Monday's 20-point victory over Denver, Warriors fans will be eager to see their new duo in action Wednesday against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
