Next WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion after Raquel Rodriguez: Three stars who could be next to hold the Raw women’s division’s secondary title
Next WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion after Raquel Rodriguez: Three stars who could be next to hold the Raw women’s division’s secondary title
WWE

Raquel Rodriguez currently holds the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship, which she won from Sol Ruca on the July 27 Raw episode.

Rodriguez has only defended the gold in one televised match since them, against Sol Ruca on August 28. With most of her title defenses taking place on house shows, there has been some speculation about future challengers.

With WWE not showing much interest in having Rodriguez defend the gold on TV, we could soon see her drop the title to another star who the company is actively trying to build.

From former champions to recent debutants, there are a number of prospects who we could see hold the Women’s Intercontinental Championship in the coming weeks or months.

Here are three stars who could win the Women’s Intercontinental Title from Raquel Rodriguez.

Lyra Valkyria

Lyra Valkyria has been obsessed with attempting to earn another shot at the Women’s Intercontinental Championship in recent months, with this being one of the reasons she betrayed Bayley in June.

Despite this, Valkyria hasn’t faced off against Rodriguez since the latter name won the gold, with their most recent bout seeing Rodriguez emerge with the victory on the June 20 non-televised house show in Cardiff, Wales.

With Valkyria having such a clear goal, one reason for her not yet achieving it could be because WWE plans for her to ultimately win the title once she receives her opportunity.

Valkyria is aiming to become a two-time Women’s Intercontinental Champion, having been the inaugural titleholder for 144 days in 2025.

Lola Vice

Lola Vice certainly made an impact in her Raw in-ring debut, defeating two champions to qualify for the Money in the Bank ladder match.

Vice was victorious against NXT Women’s Champion Kelani Jordan and Women’s IC Champion Raquel Rodriguez, notably pinning Rodriguez to punch her ticket to the October 10 premium live event.

With Kelani back in NXT and Vice having a pinfall victory over Rodriguez, it would make a lot of sense for the newest Raw women’s division addition to target the Women’s Intercontinental Champion.

Vice and Rodriguez most recently faced off in tag-team action, with Raquel and Roxanne Perez defeating Lola and Sol Ruca on October 5.

Stephanie Vaquer

Stephanie Vaquer is no longer the Women’s World Champion, notably losing the gold at WWE Money in the Bank.

Liv Morgan pinned Vaquer to win back the title in a three-way match also featuring Becky Lynch, ending La Primera’s 27 day reign, which began at a live event in her home country of Chile.

Unless WWE is looking to go round and round in circles – which could be a possibility – the company will have to find something for Stephanie Vaquer to do away from the Women’s World Title picture.

Not only would Raquel Rodriguez be a formidable obstacle for Vaquer, dethoning Rodriguez would allow Vaquer to one-up the Judgment Day without pulling the rug from under Liv Morgan.
