Adding defensive back Erick Hallet to the practice squad and releasing Jordan Elliott made headlines on Tuesday, but the Tennessee Titans also held a workout with a veteran offensive lineman.
The Titans worked out former Los Angeles Chargers offensive lineman Jamaree Salyer, but he left Nashville without a deal for either the active roster or the practice squad.
A former sixth-round pick of the Chargers in the 2022 NFL Draft, Salyer was forced into the lineup early in his rookie season and went on to start 40 games, playing in 64 games over his first four seasons. In March, he signed as a free agent with the Miami Dolphins, but he injured his knee in training camp, was placed on injured reserve, and was released in August.
The Titans will enter Wednesday’s practice with one open roster spot after releasing Elliott, and it will be interesting to see how they approach it. On Sunday, the team elevated defensive tackle Timmy Horne to replace Elliott. They also have rookie defensive tackle Jackie Marshall, who has been inactive all season and hasn't made his regular-season debut, and could look to add a different position to the roster.
