Inverness Caledonian Thistle suffered a disappointing second-half collapse to lose 5-1 against Dunfermline Athletic.
The two sides sat right next to each other in the Championship table going into the clash, but there ended up being a gulf between the team on the final scoreboard.
It was actually the Caley Jags who struck first at East End Park, being awarded a penalty when Layton Stewart was fouled inside the Pars box.
Alfie Bavidge stepped up to take the spot kick, and dispatched his penalty to make it 1-0 to Inverness in the 13th minute.
Caley Thistle saw out the half with their advantage still intact, but it was a different story in the second 45 minutes.
Just two minutes after the restart Dunfermline had equalised through Olamilekan Adams.
Former Ross County and Hamilton Accies striker Oli Shaw then scored either side of the hour mark to open up a 3-1 lead for the hosts, and they did not relent from there.
Nurudeen Abdulai scored Dunfermline’s fourth in the 68th minute, which was followed up by Kian Corbally 10 minutes later.
In a congested Championship table, the defeat has seen Caley Thistle slip below Livingston to sixth in the standings, with Scott Kellacher’s men now five points behind Dunfermline and four off the top four.
