WATCH ex-Celtic star Daizen Maeda score first Ipswich goal

The Japanese attacker was sent racing through on goal and found himself one-v-one with Gianluigi Donnarumma before keeping his composure to beat the City goalkeeper and haul Ipswich level.

It was Maeda’s first goal for Ipswich following his summer move from Celtic, and it arrived on one of the biggest stages in English football.

Maeda left Celtic for Ipswich in July 2026 after a trophy-laden spell in Glasgow, having initially joined the club on loan before making his move permanent in 2022.

In his final full Premiership campaign at Celtic, the attacker scored 14 goals in 36 league appearances, playing a pivotal role in Martin O'Neill's side retaining their league crown.
