'Jayson Tatum-Level Corniness,' 'You Ain't Kobe (Bryant)' -- WNBA Fans Mock Angel Reese's 'Job's Not Done' Remark After Dream Force Game 7

Angel Reese is taking heat online for a postgame remark after the Atlanta Dream beat the Golden State Valkyries 80-69 on Thursday to extend the WNBA Finals.

Golden State had a chance to clinch the championship at State Farm Arena, but Atlanta kept its season alive. Saturday’s deciding contest in San Francisco will be the first Game 7 in WNBA Finals history.

WNBA Fans Clown Angel Reese’s ‘Job’s Not Done’ Sign-Off

Reese, a three-time All-Star who was named the 2026 Defensive Player of the Year in her first season with the Dream, finished with 15 points, 14 rebounds, and 6 assists. She ended her postgame comments by making it clear Atlanta still had one more game to win:

“We just wanted to get this one, one at a time, and being able to go out and take our chances and go on the road and win one. We needed the opportunity. That’s all we needed, and we maximized it today. I’m just really proud of this group. The job is not done, and I’m looking forward to it. One more. Job’s not done.”

One fan replied: “You ain’t Kobe (Bryant) baybeeee.”

Bryant famously said, “Job’s not finished” on June 7, 2009, when asked why he didn’t appear happy after the Los Angeles Lakers took a 2-0 lead over the Orlando Magic in the NBA Finals. The Lakers went on to win the series in five games, with the “Black Mamba” earning Finals MVP honors.

The comparison wasn’t the only criticism. One response read: “Jayson Tatum-level corniness.”

With the championship still undecided, a fan wrote: “Golden State please don’t let her corny self touch a ring.”

The clip also drew this reaction: “She’s a helluva clip farmer lol.”

One viewer was already looking ahead to Saturday: “Job not done gimmick LMAOOOOO. Yeah, enjoy ur first Finals loss.”

A final comment questioned why Reese hadn’t shown the same confidence earlier in the series: “This the energy she should’ve had when they were up 2-1.”

Allisha Gray led Atlanta with 23 points, while Rhyne Howard added 21. The Dream scored 32 points in the first quarter and built a 25-point lead before holding off Golden State’s late push.

Reese will have a chance to back up her words on the road, where the Dream have already picked up a win in this series.
