Amazing Red is still the TNA X-Division Champion after defeating Cedric Alexander on the October 29 episode of TNA iMPACT. The two high-flyers put on a competitive match, with Alexander coming close to winning the championship.

Red entered the match after a memorable night at Slammiversary. He won the X-Division Championship on the same night he was inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame. The veteran defeated Cedric Alexander, BDE, Rich Swann, Fabian Aichner, KC Navarro, and Ryan Nemeth in a seven-way scramble to win the title.

However, Alexander earned his title opportunity last week by defeating Aichner, Swann, and Navarro in a four-way match.

Amazing Red catches Cedric Alexander with a decisive Code Red

Alexander took control early by throwing Red to the mat. However, the champion escaped a wristlock and hit a strike off the ropes. Alexander moved to the outside, but Red followed him with a Swanton from the ring post.

Red kept the pressure on by chopping Alexander against the barricades before rolling him back into the ring. The challenger finally found an opening when he caught Red with an X-Plex on the apron.

Alexander sent Red back into the ring and locked in a facelock. Red managed to escape, but Alexander hit a German suplex for a near fall. The challenger continued his attack in the corner with chops and a choke against the ropes. He then followed up with a splash and a dropkick for another two-count.

Red tried to fight back, but Alexander caught him and hit a DVD for yet another near fall. Alexander then locked in a waistlock, looking to wear down the champion.

The veteran eventually escaped with a series of elbows. Red got the upper hand with a headscissor takedown and followed it up with a tornado DDT.

Red then hit a superkick and tried to finish Alexander with the Code Red. However, the challenger saw it coming and countered the move into a Michinoku Driver. He nearly got the three-count but Red managed to stay in the match.

Both men then traded chops, with Red catching Alexander off guard with a roll-up. The challenger kicked out at two, keeping his hopes of winning the championship alive. Alexander followed up with a big right hand, but Red answered with a spinning kick. The champion then hit a DDT from the second rope.

Red didn’t give his opponent any time to recover. He quickly connected with the Code Red and finally secured the victory.
