Texas A&M is looking to earn its first significant win of the season, and based on intel we've received about the roster's string of "player-only meetings" amid the Aggies' 1-3 SEC record, the team is hungry to change the narrative. Coming off last Saturday's 41-0 shutout win over The Citadel, the win over an FCS team doesn't move the needle, but it was a much-needed victory after falling to Missouri 27-6 the week prior.
Led by an elite rushing effort from sophomore running back Jamarion Morrow, who scored three of the Aggies' five touchdowns, and freshman RB KJ Edwards' career-high 116 rushing yards, the rushing attack needs to be the focus, while starting quarterback Marcel Reed, who looked more comfortable on Saturday, must be on the same page as first-year OC Holmon Wiggins.
Facing Alabama's 101st-ranked passing defense, Texas A&M's offense has the opportunity to score 20 or more points, but given the struggles in conference play, Marcel Reed, or, possibly, backup QB Brady Hart, must hit the high-percentage "layup" throws to expose Alabama's secondary, knowing that the run game could struggle against the Tide's defensive front.
On Thursday, the Texas A&M media team released its weekly uniform reveal video featuring freshman linebacker Tamarion Watkins in the all-white uniform, helmet to pants, better known as the team's "Icy whites," with the Aggies script on the helmet.
This will be the first time Texas A&M wears the all-white uniform, and for those who remember, the Aggies wore it during last season's 41-40 win over Notre Dame.
