Paul, known as “Toast”, was a loving brother to Karen and Tond, dad to Sophie and James, grandad to Lilly, brother-in-law to Huw, father-in-law to Helen and uncle to Ben and Craig, and a friend to many in Wrexham.

Paying tribute to her dad, Sophie said: “I'm not sure how I can sum it up other than he was an amazing guy and loved by so many.

“He was born and bred in Wrexham, and was an avid supporter of the football club since a child.”

Sophie thanked the emergency services for their efforts in attempting to save Paul – with an air ambulance called to assist.

Wrexham band Declan Swans paid tribute to Paul on social media.

Their post said: “Wrexham has lost a huge character. A great friend of ours and a top, top lad.

“Paul Prydderch, affectionately known to so many as ‘Toast’, was one of those people who left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

“There will be countless wonderful stories, memories and a few legendary tales shared in the days ahead. Paul will be remembered with so much love, laughter and affection.

"He was well loved, and his passing will leave a huge hole in the hearts of so many across Wrexham.

"Thinking of all his family and friends at this incredibly sad time.”

The Fairfield Tavern pub, in Wrexham, also paid tribute.

A social media post said: “Yesterday we got the news that a real Fairfield Legend had sadly passed away, our Paul or as lots of you knew him, Toast."

"Paul was the life and soul of any party, always making everyone laugh, be it with his magic tricks, his musical instruments, his topless dance moves or his singing with his vape as a mic, whatever memory you have of Paul, we can all agree he is going to be so, so missed.”

“He will never be forgotten. RIP Pauly.”

One person said: “One of the best, he looked out for me in the early days of my Wrexham away trips and was a friend ever since, we will miss that smile and giggle.”

Another added: “Top lad, had many away days with him watching Wrexham back in the day, spoke to him a few weeks ago and he was as always laughing and joking.”

A further commenter said: “One of life's characters that would light up any room he walked into. Never a dull moment being around Toast - will be sadly missed for sure.”
