Wales' Louis Rees-Zammit claimed the official player of the match award(Image: Getty Images)
Wales limped to an unconvincing 28-21 victory over Japan at the Principality Stadium.
Tries from Archie Griffin, Josh Adams (twice) and Louis Rees-Zammit, along with a combined eight points from the boots of Sam Costelow and Dan Edwards, got Wales over the line.
Here are your player ratings from the Welsh capital....
15. Blair Murray 7
Dangerous with ball in hand but if he had called a mark in the first half Japan's first try would have been prevented.
But he made up for it with a strong all-round performance. Murray kicked well out of hand and it was his break which set Adams up for the decisive try.
There was also some fantastic defensive work late on when he tracked back into the 22 to retrieve a loose ball to dig Wales out of a hole.
14. Louis Rees-Zammit 9 (star man)
The Wales wing was Wales' biggest attacking threat. Rees-Zammit started the game with an incisive break and went on to slice open the Japanese defence on more than one occasion.
Every single time he had the ball he made metres, while the Bristol Bears flyer also made four linebreaks and claimed a crucial try.
13. Eddie James 8
The Scarlets centre is one of Wales' biggest attacking weapon, but they don't use him enough.
He brushed aside Naoto Saito with ease in the first half before offloading out of the back door to Murray to put Louis Rees-Zammit over for a try.

Still better suited to inside centre.
12. Max Llewellyn 6
The Gloucester centre carried reasonably well, while his distribution was good.
Llewellyn made seven carries in total. A solid performance without setting the world on fire.
11. Josh Adams 6
Got caught out defensively when he turned his back on Ben Gunter for Japan's opening try, while he also got brushed off in the lead up to Kenta Fukuda's try.
But he responded well and came into the game scoring two tries, while he also won a crucial turnover penalty at the death.
10. Sam Costelow 5
Solid if not spectacular. The Scarlets playmaker kicked well out of hand but was also guilty of kicking the ball away when Wales had numbers on the outside.
9. Tomos Williams 5
Far too sloppy in the first half with a knock on under no pressure off the back of a maul. Williams was also tackled in possession in his own 22 which led to Japan's first try, while his kicking out of hand wasn't as accurate as it needed to be.
He was better after the break.
8. Aaron Wainwright 7
The Leicester Tigers No 8 was arguably Wales' best forward..
Hit a tremendous angle to slice open the Japanese defence in the first half, while he made seven carries.
7. Jac Morgan 7
The Gloucester backrower got through a huge amount of work and finished the game as the top tackler with 12.

Morgan also carried very well but didn't get much luck at the breakdown.
6. Alex Mann 7
The Cardiff backrower got through a mountain of work, making nine tackles.
Mann's tip-on passes from the point of contact were very effective, while he also stripped the ball in contact to win a turnover on one occasion.
5. Ben Carter 6
Carter got through a mountain of work in defence and did well on a couple of occasions to halt Japan's attacking momentum by holding up the carrier to win a turnover.
But the lineout faltered badly at times and as the caller he has to shoulder some of the responsibility.
4. Dafydd Jenkins 6
As always Jenkins got through a mountain of work making 11 tackles, while he added some much-needed physicality to the Wales pack.
3. Archie Griffin 6
The Bath prop worked hard around the park and carried well to score Wales' first try.
Griffin was solid enough in the scrum but did lose possession on a couple of occasions.
2. Dewi Lake 6
The Wales captain carried well, making seven carries and 10 tackles.
But he will be disappointed with a couple of lineout throws including a not straight to the front just five metres out from the Japan try line.
But Lake may well have saved Wales from conceding a try with his final contribution of the match, winning a crucial turnover penalty to halt a dangerous Japanese attack.
1. Nicky Smith 6
Solid in the scrum without gaining the ascendancy.
He saved a certain try on the stroke of half-time with a turnover on his own try line while he made eight tackles and only one carry.
Replacements
16. Ryan Elias 7
Carried well and found his man in the lineout. The Scarlets man was quite prominent.
17. Rhys Carre 7
The Saracens prop made a big impact with his carrying and was a handful in open play.
18. Tomas Francis 6
Gained the ascendancy at the scrum but did get penalised on one occasion.
19. Teddy Williams 6
Williams looked good in broken play but spilled the ball forward once when Wales were in a strong position in the Japanese 22.
20. James Botham 6
Solid and got through a lot of defensive work during his 11 minutes on the field.
21. Reuben Morgan-Williams N/A
Unused
22. Dan Edwards 6
Kicked well and looked decent when the game had broken up.
