A darts icon is set to come out of retirement for Luke Littler's Netflix special. John McDonald will pick up the microphone again to MC Netflix's Beat Luke Little challenge on Friday (October 30).
Littler, 19, will face 24 players in a single leg of darts with the amateurs having the chance to win £501,000 against the world no.1. And as they make their way to the oche they will be announced by McDonald, 66.
According to The Sun, McDonald will be the Master of Ceremonies for first time since January 3 - when Littler claimed his second world title over Gian van Veen.

Speaking to The Sun, McDonald said: "It’s a special event and for that reason I’ll come out and do it. Evidently in the production meeting, Luke Littler said they should get me. I thought that was nice. He’s a nice kid.
“When I covered Luke Littler’s Super-16 final three years ago at Ally Pally, I said to him: ‘I’m sorry there’s nobody here, mate, but one day you’ll be playing on this stage in front of thousands.’
“And he said: 'Yeah, Wednesday, I’ve qualified.’ He was 16. As a MC, I never get a second go at anything. I have always worked live. I can’t go ‘Good evening, ladies and gentlemen…’Oh, sorry, could I do that again?
“I never get that chance. If I make a mistake, these things happen, and I was quite lucky, I didn’t make too many. When you do that for a living you’ve got to get it right and you tend to always operate like that. I did that for 38 years.
“I’m looking forward to being back on tele, back entertaining, and once again darts is the winner."
There has been criticism about the event with the players revealed being far from amateurs as women's world no.3 Fallon Sherrock, highly-rated talent Jayden Walker and WDF World Championship finalist Mitchell Lawrie were all in the line-up.
It had been billed as an amateur event, while technically true as none hold tour cards, has left fans furious on social media after fans queued up in their thousands for a chance to throw against the champ.
