The Green Bay Packers are expecting wide receiver Matthew Golden to play through foot and shoulder injuries on Thursday night against the Carolina Panthers.
According to James Palmer of NFL on Prime Video, the Packers have "a lot of optimism" and are "expecting" Golden to play despite being listed as questionable on the final injury report of a short week.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network said Golden has a "good chance" of playing against the Panthers.
"I'm told he's trending towards playing. So there's a good chance for the Packers that Matthew Golden gets on the field tonight with Jordan Love and his teammates," Rapoport said Thursday morning.
Golden, who is enjoying a second-year breakout with the Packers, has 36 catches for 540 yards and three touchdowns through seven games. He ranks ninth in the NFL in receiving yards and is one of only five receivers to average at least 15.0 yards per catch and produce at least 500 receiving yards entering Week 8.
Golden was estimated as a non-participant on Monday, and he did not participate during the Packers' walkthrough on Tuesday, but he was able to participate in a limited capacity during Wednesday's walkthrough.
If available, Golden will look to bounce back from a disappointing afternoon in Detroit on Sunday. He caught six of 12 targets for only 39 yards across 40 routes run. He had a catch of over 20 yards knocked out of his hands late, and he was stopped well short of the sticks on fourth down inside the 10-yard line.
Gameday inactives will be announced 90 minutes prior to kick off on Thursday night, so Golden's availability should be known by 5:45 p.m. CT.
