Roy Keane broke his lifeline golden rule on autographs when he asked for Sylvester Stallone's signature during a special edition of The Overlap. The former Manchester United skipper joined Gary Neville, Jill Scott and Ian Wright in meeting the legendary Rocky and Rambo actor. The American film star appeared on the podcast to discuss his illustrious career. Prior to the episode's launch, a brief preview clip offered viewers a glimpse of an unfamiliar side to Keane. Sporting a Rambo T-shirt bearing Stallone's image, Keane was thrilled to meet the Hollywood legend.

He was spotted straightening his shirt, leading supporters to remark on the unusual sight of him appearing awestruck. Stallone also clocked his attire, remarking: "Nice shirt."

Neville couldn't help ribbing his former colleague, suggesting he would transform into a 'fawning schoolboy' in Stallone's presence. Keane responded: "No, Gary, don't be silly, I'm a professional."

However, following a momentary silence, he continued: "He might sign it for me."

On X, one supporter observed: "Never thought I'd see Roy Keane fawning over anyone. Good to see his softer side."

While another quipped: "For Roy it's love at first blood."

A third remarked: "Heartwarming."

It marked an atypical request from Keane, who has a reputation for occasionally turning down supporters' request for photographs or autographs when they encounter him publicly.

One fan recently described experiencing the 'full Roy Keane experience' following an uncomfortable interaction with the former midfielder at Cork Airport.

Keane subsequently offered his version of events after video clips circulated extensively across social media, stating: "What is it? What do you want me to do?

"The guy was a pest! What is funny about? What am I supposed to do, do a dance for people? They're shouting your name out loud.

"What are you shouting my name for? Just come over and be polite. He knew what game he was playing."
