Juventus meant business in Europe. Fresh from getting back to winning ways domestically against Napoli, they flew out of the traps against AZ Alkmaar. The Bianconeri took complete control before the interval thanks to two moments of sheer quality, both bearing the hallmark of Randal Kolo Muani.

The Frenchman arrived in Turin shouldering heavy expectations, yet had endured an inconsistent run of form until now. In the Netherlands, however, he stole the spotlight with a commanding, match-winning display.

His opening act arrived in the 19th minute with a piece of pure magic. He beat his marker with a delightful flick over his head in the final third, surged down the flank and picked out Koopmeiners, who dispatched a crisp first-time finish right into the bottom corner.

He was far from finished. On 37 minutes, Kolo Muani took matters into his own hands: reclaiming possession, exchanging a sharp one-two with Woltemade, and unleashing an unstoppable left-footed rocket that gave the goalkeeper no chance. First an exquisite assist, then a wonder strike—the French forward truly illuminated a European night for Juventus.
