Amid all the talk about the shocking trade of Jeffery Simmons to the Chicago Bears, the Tennessee Titans took time out of their day to make a move on their practice squad.
One day after being released to make room for defensive tackle Jonah Laulu, whom the Titans claimed off waivers from the Las Vegas Raiders, Tennessee re-signed veteran defensive tackle Timmy Horne to the practice squad.
Now, following the Simmons trade, Horne will likely be elevated to game-day duty for the Titans this weekend against the Cincinnati Bengals. Horne has been active over the past two games, while rookie Jackie Marshall has been inactive.
To make room for Horne, Tennessee released LB Mohamoud Diabate from the practice squad.
Tennessee has an open roster spot on its 53-man roster after trading Simmons and could look to add another defensive lineman. However, with special teams ace Dorian Mausi working his way back from injured reserve, they could likely use that open roster spot to activate him.
