Keith Andrews addressed a 2-1 loss for Brentford against Liverpool.
The Bees have made an unbeaten start to the season with two wins and four draws from their first six Premier League matches, and they hoped to beat the Reds at home for a second successive season.
They took the lead at the GTECH Community Stadium through a late first half goal from Keane Lewis-Potter, but Yehor Yarmoliuk was sent off for leaning into Jeremy Jacquet with his head.
Víctor Munoz and Alexander Isak turned around the score for Liverpool, leaving the Bees upset.
"The overall feeling is I'm filled with a lot of pride around what we are, who we are, how we do things overall. I felt it was a pretty even game. I thought we were gaining momentum and confidence within the game and wanted to create a faster game. I had full belief we would continue to do that.
“Second half changes the momentum of the game and it proves more difficult.
"I think you need to manage moments, be clever, be streetwise. Our players aren't robots.
“We play with emotion, with passion, on the edge. I'm a big fan of that and trying to find that balance can be difficult. It's difficult for them to control that. There's a lot that's gone on today, you get challenged firstly from a very good football team and also from other dimensions around the game.
"I think Jacquet is very clever, he walks towards [Yarmo] when the ball is the opposite way. I think he's in a state of trying to provoke. I don't think Yarmo reacts in as good a way as he should."
"Disappointed [in the dressing room] because we're a team that feels we can go toe to toe with any team. When it's an even keel we're in a good place and we gave them an advantage."
