Patriots' Drake Maye climbs back into NFL.com's top-10 QB rankings

Patriots quarterback Drake Maye has reentered the top-10 in NFL.com's quarterback rankings heading into Week 6.

New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye has put together a recent stretch of games that has seen him re-enter the conversation of the best quarterbacks in the NFL this season.

NFL.com ranked Maye No. 8 overall in their latest quarterback rankings, marking a significant rise for him among the league’s best stars after a difficult start to the year.

Maye has found his rhythm in recent weeks, establishing himself as one of the league’s most productive quarterbacks of late. Through five games played, Maye has completed 99-of-151 passes for 1,228 yards, eight touchdowns and seven interceptions, while adding 161 rushing yards and a touchdown.

His Week 5 performance against the Las Vegas Raiders was particularly impressive, as he completed 26-of-34 passes for 374 yards and four touchdowns in New England’s 45-17 victory.

Maye’s rise follows a disappointing opening three weeks, during which he threw for 585 yards, one touchdown and six interceptions. Since then, he has rebounded with 643 passing yards, seven touchdown passes and only one interception over his past two outings.

The turnaround has highlighted his improved decision-making and ability to generate explosive plays, giving the Patriots renewed optimism as they prepare for their Week 6 matchup against the New York Jets.
