Liverpool saw a penalty decision overturned, goal against them and Brentford player sent off in a chaotic end to the first half of their Premier League clash. Andoni Iraola's side thought they had a spot-kick after a foul on Alexis Mac Allister but VAR got involved which saw the initial call overturned.
Just three minutes later, Keane Lewis-Potter put the Bees in front but Liverpool will fancy their chances of grabbing equaliser in the second half after a red card to Yehor Yarmolyuk for moving his head towards Jeremy Jacquet.
It looked as though the midfielder had gotten away with his action but referee John Brooks was then called to the monitor and after watching the incident, decided to send him off just before the interval.
Liverpool also lost Dominik Szoboszlai to injury midway through the first half with the Hungary international absent for the last two games due to hamstring tightness.
