The Miami Dolphins have needed more help on the edge, so on Friday, they turned to the waiver wire to address the need and successfully claimed Jamree Kromah off waivers.
Kromah, 26, spent four years at Rutgers and two at James Madison, recording 97 tackles, 14 sacks, and one fumble recovery in 46 games before going undrafted in 2024. He signed with the Chicago Bears as an undrafted free agent but failed to make the roster out of camp. After a quick stint with the New England Patriots as a rookie (where he recorded two tackles in two games), he rejoined Chicago's practice squad and spent the rest of his rookie season and all of the 2025 season there. He made the roster this year but never played in a game.
To make room for Kromah, the Dolphins have released defensive end Robert Beal Jr.
Beal, 27, was a two-time national champion in his four years with the Georgia Bulldogs before the San Francisco 49ers took him in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL Draft. In three years with San Francisco, he appeared in 25 games, recording 37 tackles and one sack. He joined the Dolphins on a one-year deal this offseason, recording one tackle in two games before missing the last four with a hamstring injury.
Miami's edge group now includes Kromah, Chop Robinson, Joshua Uche, Malik Herring and Rodney McGraw on the active roster. They also have seventh-round pick Max Llewellyn, Eric Watts and Amari Gainer on the practice squad.
