There will be games where theoretically it will be better for Ladder to start and others where it will be better for Freddie. For example, I don't see Burnley at home as physical a test as Middlesborough away was, and regardless of suspension the right player started in both games imo - horses for courses.
I don't see the pair starting together, but can see them finishing games when we are chasing a narrow deficit like the Southampton fixture. Anyway, it is nice to have two target men at all, let alone ones that have different strengths and nuances (Freddie and nuance in the same sentence ) within the number 9 role.
Generally speaking now Mikkel is emerging, I can see Freddie away and Ladder at home as a bit of a likely pattern, subject to the caveat of the specific strengths and weaknesses of the opponent on any given day.
I think the defence has quality and strength in depth, with options and that is the solid, reliable base done that we absolutely need at any level, let alone the Championship.
I reckon we are starting to see the central midfield settle down with Konak making a power play.
For me it really is the forward positions overall that offer the most uncertainty, but also options at this stage, with only House a fixture home and away. If the coaches are trying to figure out their forward line on a weekly basis, you can bet the opposition are struggling to second guess how we will line up as well.
