Here's everything we know from the Panthers' Week 6 win over the Eagles . . .
(This post has been updated with new information.)
Sunday's matchup between the Carolina Panthers and the Philadelphia Eagles was more of a slop fest than it was a slugfest. But the reigning NFC South champs packed enough of a punch to come away with a win in Week 6.
Here's everything we know from Sunday's victory in Philly . . .
Panthers 25, Eagles 14
Carolina's offense wasn't nearly as sharp as it was over the first four games of the season, but it pulled through. The Panthers finished the afternoon, against what's still a very good defense, with 399 total yards. Quarterback Bryce Young completed 20 of his 39 throws for 281 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Running back Chuba Hubbard paced the unit, especially in the second half. He ate up 28 carries for 120 yards and a touchdown.
The Panthers defense did their job, holding the banged-up Eagles offense to just 222 total yards. They got to quarterback Tanner McKee for three sacks and limited Philadelphia to just 35 rushing yards on 13 attempts.
Since the attempt accounted for a 9-yard net, we can't call running back Tre Tyus III's block of punter Braden Mann an actual block. But Tyus, with just over eight minutes left in the game, got to the kick and set the offense up from Philadelphia's 48-yard line.
Young would go on to cap off a four-play, 48-yard drive with his second touchdown pass of the day to tight end Tommy Tremble. Their connection gave Carolina a 25-14 lead with 6:38 on the clock.
RB Chuba Hubbard: 27 carries, 118 yards, touchdown
TE Tommy Tremble: four receptions, 46 yards, two touchdowns
ILB Bobby Okereke: eight tackles (three for a loss), sack, two passes defensed
The Panthers (3-2) will return home to host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-5) in Week 7.
